5 unique Table Plans
One of my favourite on-the-day wedding stationery items to draw is table plans. The less conventional and personal they are, the better. Below is a selection of the most creative table plans I have designed for some of my customers.
My illustrated table plans gallery will provide you with all the inspiration you need for commissioning your own.
Here are five of my favourite unusual seating charts –
Rabbit breed table plan
Jen and Holly opted for a bunny-themed table plan to guide their guests to their seats. The design included two Dutch rabbits to represent the couple’s pets, Ernie and Wilbur, with the words “Please hop to your seat”. The rest of the tables were represented by eight additional rabbit species, including Flemish Giant, Rex and Angora.
2. Travel-themed table plan
Dan and Kelly wanted to pay tribute to some of their favourite places. I drew them at the top with The Alps and snowboarders behind them, to represent a snowboarding trip they’d been on together. Other icons such as a lobster for Cornwall, England, and macarons for Lille, France represented the other guest tables.
To make this idea your own, consider naming your tables after countries you have visited together as a couple, and select an image to represent each.
3. Races and medal table plan
My customers, Matthew and Claire are keen runners and have run many races and marathons together, so they asked me to incorporate this into their plan. I drew the medals for each race they’d completed, one for each table, to represent each organised running event.
Highlighting the hobby you enjoy together is a great way of making your table plan one to remember.
4. Beach hut table plan
Andrew and Emma holiday with their children, every year, in Devon where they enjoy the different beaches along the coast. As they were marrying in Salcombe, they asked me to incorporate their love of Devonshire seaside spots into their seating plan, marking each one with an illustrated beach hut. This was a nod to the bride, Emma’s, mother’s beach hut which they also made use of regularly.
5. Cocktail bar table plan
Paul and Stephanie picked a selection of their favourite cocktails to depict each table for their wedding breakfast. The colourful drinks worked really well, to create an eye-catching table plan and work of art, which could be displayed in the couple’s home afterwards, as a keepsake of their wedding.
Adopt this idea for your table plan and wedding stationery by incorporating your favourite beverages into the designs. This would work with wines of the world, craft beers, artisan coffees, smoothies and juices or even protein shakes!
